Robert Irwin, the popular Australian conservationist and TV personality, is ready to take on a new challenge — dancing! He has officially joined Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars as the first celebrity contestant. The big reveal was made on April 22, 2025, during Disney’s Get Real event. Robert surprised fans by showing up shirtless with a snake around his neck and said, “It’s a huge honor to be part of this season.”
Robert’s decision to join the show is deeply personal.
Robert revealed that watching her win when he was just 11 inspired him to dream of dancing one day himself.
Best known for continuing the legacy of his late father Steve Irwin, Robert has dedicated his life to wildlife work at Australia Zoo and in the hit series Crikey! It’s the Irwins. Recently, he turned heads in a Bonds underwear ad, where he posed with snakes and other wildlife to support conservation.
The upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, produced by BBC Studios LA, will debut in fall 2025 on ABC and Disney+, with next-day streaming available on Hulu. The full list of stars and their pro partners will be announced soon.
Season 33 delivered massive success, drawing 7.95 million viewers and 32 million votes for the finale — the highest numbers from the 18–34 age group in four years. With Robert Irwin now in the spotlight, Season 34 promises to be even more exciting.
